Crab Lettuce Wraps

Over the years, I’ve worked to perfect my crab lettuce wraps because they’ve become a staple in my Feast of the Seven Fishes every Christmas Eve. This past year, they were such a hit that I now make them regularly for a quick and flavorful lunch or dinner. Packed with protein and fresh ingredients, these wraps are not only delicious but also great for meal prep—lasting 2-3 days in the fridge. I hope this recipe adds a little excitement to your weekday meals!

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound lump crab meat (fresh is best!)

  • 4 tbsp minced red onion

  • 3 tbsp fresh lime juice

  • 3 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro

  • 5 grape tomatoes, minced

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 jalapeño, minced

  • Salt and fresh black pepper to taste

  • Butter lettuce leaves (for the wrap)

  • 2 medium Hass avocados (for topping)

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, gently mix the lump crab meat with the red onion, lime juice, cilantro, minced grape tomatoes, olive oil, and jalapeño. Stir carefully to keep the crab meat intact.

  2. Add salt and fresh black pepper to your liking, adjusting the flavors as needed.

  3. Take a butter lettuce leaf and spoon a generous portion of the crab mixture into the center.

  4. Slice the Hass avocados and place them on top of each wrap for added creaminess.

  5. Enjoy immediately as a refreshing meal or snack!
