Forgiveness Is a Powerful Tool
Healing your mindset and your body begins with compassion — not perfection
This weekend was incredible. I had the opportunity to spend Saturday with a group of inspiring souls, talking about hustle culture and the quiet toxicity it can create within us. Together, we shared, supported, and learned from one another — taking our first steps toward releasing the hold this mindset has had on us.
At the end of the workshop, one thing really stuck with me: the idea of forgiving ourselves.
Once you begin the journey of healing, it can be hard not to judge the person you once were. Many of my clients struggle with thoughts like, “I should have done better,” “I can’t believe I thought that way,” or “I was so stupid.”
But here’s the truth — how could you have made different choices when you only had the information you had at the time?
When we start letting go of old patterns and belief systems that no longer serve us, we’re updating our minds. We’re changing how we process information, how we react, and how we show up — not just consciously, but on a subconscious level.
It’s easy, once you begin this work, to look back and feel shame, guilt, or embarrassment about your past self.
As a health coach and nurse, I used to feel that same shame when I talked about my own struggles with anxiety, disordered eating, and unhealthy relationships. Over the years, I made mistakes, lost good friends, and tried to tape and glue myself together to fit into what I thought I should be.
But the real work — the true freedom and self-love — comes from looking at that version of yourself and saying, thank you.
Thank you for doing the best you could with what you knew.
Thank you for playing a role in bringing me to where I am today.
Because it’s not about getting it right or being perfect. It’s about tuning in, stepping back, and updating your beliefs when they no longer align with the person you want to become.
The person you were doesn’t have to determine who you are today. You always have the power and the opportunity to make a new choice, create a new reality, and rewrite your internal story.
And remember — healing isn’t linear. I still fall into old patterns sometimes, but now I can recognize them and choose differently. I can meet myself with compassion and make the best decision for where I am now.
Growth isn’t about erasing who we’ve been — it’s about integrating who we’ve become. Every time we choose awareness over autopilot, compassion over criticism, we step closer to the person we’re meant to be.
If you’re in a season of reevaluating, healing, or simply finding your footing again, know this: you don’t have to do it alone. You’re allowed to start small, to show up imperfectly, and to begin exactly where you are.
If your body has been asking for a reset, this is your moment. The 28-Day Fall Liver Detox begins October 20, and it’s a chance to support your body the same way you’re learning to support your mind — with patience, nourishment, and intention.
This isn’t about restriction or perfection; it’s about adding in more of what helps you thrive. Together, we’ll focus on:
Gently supporting your liver and digestion
Balancing hormones naturally
Boosting energy, clarity, and focus
Building sustainable habits that carry you into the rest of the year
By the end of the 28 days, you’ll have more energy, clearer focus, and a stronger connection to your body’s natural rhythms — all before the holiday season begins.
Because healing isn’t about doing everything right — it’s about learning to listen, trust, and take the next step forward.
