Why Quick Fixes Fail
And what really creates lasting change
Whenever I tell people I’m a health coach, they usually ask me about a “hack” they’ve seen on the internet. It could be a new workout, a supplement, a diet, or something else. While some of these hacks can support a wellness journey, they rarely solve the whole picture on their own.
In today’s culture, we’re always on the go—constantly moving from one thing to the next. I used to be the same way, always chasing the next trend or researching a new supplement. It’s hard because (1) there’s so much conflicting information out there, and (2) science is constantly evolving. It can feel impossible to know if you’re doing the right thing or what’s actually worth your time and money.
As an expert in this field, I’m expected to know the latest information. For a long time, I thought I had to know everything to be effective at my job. That belief left me stressed about what I didn’t know instead of focusing on what I did know. Over time, I learned an important truth:
Real healing happens when you get back to the basics.
For me, the six basics that form the foundation of all healing are: beliefs, sleep, movement, nutrition, empowerment, and mindset. The key is first believing that you can heal—and finding a strong, positive internal motivation to fuel that belief. You have to want it and trust that it’s possible.
That’s why I start my work with clients by focusing on belief patterns and mindset using NLP (neuro-linguistic programming). Together, we uncover the beliefs and thought patterns that may be blocking their path toward their health goals. It’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking, I should eat that or I can’t do this, using guilt, shame, and negative self-talk to bully ourselves into following strict rules about health.
From there, we learn how to truly listen to our bodies. Our bodies send us signs of imbalance every day—brain fog, headaches, gut issues, anxiety, and more. These symptoms are deeply interconnected between the mind and body. By understanding how they influence each other, we can use nutrition, sleep, movement, and sometimes supplements to restore balance and feel good every day.
Finally, we focus on empowerment—the magic that happens when you confidently understand why your mind and body are reacting the way they do, and you know you can change those reactions yourself. Empowerment means no longer chasing someone else’s trend, hack, workout, or nutrition plan—because you know what works for your mind and body.
Health and well-being are not about perfection. They’re a lifelong practice rooted in self-love and self-worth.
